If you find yourself in a precarious situation where you’re no longer interested in relying on the Word of God for assistance no matter how close you’ve drawn to Him during the time that you’ve refrained yourself from such behavior. You’re sensing a feeling of just pushing God aside by shifting your focus away from Him to what you’re tempted to do by letting your mind to be gripped intensely by the temptation you’re going through.
The temptation has become so overwhelmed to the extent that you feel like it is overriding your own desire to quit this behavior.
Your mind starts to zero in on one of the most exciting of the many experiences you had. As a result, you find yourself contemplating the option of recreating or reenjoying that experience.
You are considering giving in this time with the false impression that next time you’ll ensure that it won’t happen.
You start losing the battle in your mind big time due to the fact this that thing has taken over your thinking, your reasoning has become blurred which then renders you incapable of thinking about the consequences that you want to avoid. And the thought of running back is running loose in your thinking.
You just overlook the consequences of your behavior just as though they are no longer an issue that you should be concerned of.
You start wrapping your mind around the notion that acting out is your only way out of that situation.
Even though you know that it’s not going to help you at all but you’re still open to do it.
You find yourself having some type of out of body experience where it looks like a part of you has come out and started to indulge in that behavior.
You start turning away from your own strategy you’ve come up with in order to overcome such behavior, then you’re not that far from relapsing.
Some Thoughts
People’s minds trapped in sin are not wired to think that much about the massive implications of their behavior.
If they ever do so, they will always do it with the intent of trying to go around the consequences.
So they fix their mind mostly on the temporary pleasure that can be enjoyed. That’s the very thing which becomes a driving factor in their lives.
