Yahweh Rapha, the LORD who heals, You Are the LORD God Almighty who is holy, holy, holy who was, and is, and is to come, and is always to be forever and ever.
Yahweh Rapha, the supreme Healer, You Are the LORD of hosts who is holy, holy, holy whom the whole earth is full of Your glory.
Yahweh Rapha, the great Lord who heals, You Are the Almighty God who is righteous, righteous, and righteous.
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.
The Lamb of God, You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessings and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever.
Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. Amen!
Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen.
The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever.
We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.
Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear You, Lord, and bring glory to Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.
LORD God, may Your holy name be blessed, glorified, praised, worshiped, exalted, honored, magnified, venerated, sanctified, and revered.
May blessings, praise, wealth, glory, wisdom, greatness, dominion, thanks, honor, power, reverence, exaltation, might, majesty, and strength be to Our Father God who sits on the throne forever and ever and to Christ Jesus whom the Father withholds nothing. To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever and to the Lamb. Amen.
Glorify God
To “glorify” God means to give glory to Him. The word glory as related to God in the Old Testament bears with it the idea of greatness of splendor. In the New Testament, the word translated “glory” means “dignity, honor, praise and worship.” Putting the two together, we find that glorifying God means to acknowledge His greatness and give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him, primarily because He, and He alone, deserves to be praised, honored and worshipped. God’s glory is the essence of His nature, and we give glory to Him by recognizing that essence (the intrinsic nature or indispensable quality).
The glory of God is the beauty of His spirit. Again, the beauty of His Spirit (or the essence of Who He Is) is His “glory.”
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength, ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name. Bring an offering and come before Him; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness (1 Chronicles 16:28-29)
First, we “ascribe” or give glory to Him because it is His due. Second, we are to “bring an offering” to God as part of the worship that glorifies Him. What is the offering we bring to God to glorify Him?
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship (Romans 12:1).
The offering we bring to God as we come before Him in the splendor or beauty of His holiness involves agreement, obedience, submission, and rehearsing His attributes or extolling Him. Glorifying God begins with agreeing with everything He says, especially about Himself.
God declares, “I am the Lord God. I created the heavens like an open tent above. I made the earth and everything that grows on it. I am the source of life for all who live on this earth, so listen to what I say (Isaiah 42:5).” Because of who He is, holy and perfect and true, His proclamations and statutes are holy and perfect and true (Psalm 19:7), and we glorify Him by listening to and agreeing with them.
God’s Word, the Bible, is His Word to us, all that we need for life in Him. Listening to and agreeing with Him, though, will not glorify Him unless we also submit to Him and obey the commands contained in His Word. “But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children—with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts” (Psalm 103:17-18). Jesus reiterated the idea that glorifying and loving God are one and the same in (John 14:15): “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.”
We also glorify God by rehearsing His attributes and His deeds. When we tell of God’s work in our lives, how He saved us from sin, and the marvelous works He does in our hearts and minds every day, we glorify Him before others. Even though others don’t always want to hear our glorifying God, He is more than pleased by it.
To glorify God is to extol (praise enthusiastically) His attributes—His holiness, faithfulness, patience, mercy, grace, love, majesty, sovereignty, power, and omniscience, omnipresence, and compassion—rehearsing them over and over in our minds and telling others about the singular nature of the salvation only He offers.
The glory of God is the beauty of His spirit. (Isaiah 43:7) says that God created us for His glory. You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5).
We will be taken to the place where God’s beauty literally resides—the beauty of His Spirit will be there, because He will be there. Again, the beauty of His Spirit (or the essence of Who He Is) is His “glory.” The glory of God is the beauty of His spirit.
Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made (Isaiah 43:7). As (Psalm 19:1-4) says, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands; day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.”
In (Isaiah 42:8), we see an example of God’s jealousy over His glory. This jealousy for His own glory is what Paul is talking about in (Romans 1:21-25) when he speaks of the ways people worship the creature rather than the Creator. In other words, they looked at the object through which God’s glory was coming, and, instead of giving God the credit for it, they worshiped that animal or tree or man as if the beauty it possessed originated from within itself.
Worship
In order to worship God in the right spirit, we must take time before worship to make ready our hearts and emotions so we will be in the proper frame of mind or proper state of mind.
Our worship must show our adoration and loyalty to God for His grace in providing us with the way to escape the bondage of sin, so we can have the salvation He so much wants to give us.
The nature of the worship God demands is the prostration of our souls before Him in humble and contrite submission. A contrite heart, a broken heart, a humble heart.
Our worship to God is a very humble and reverent action.
Worshiping God in spirit means that it must be done from the heart. Worshiping God in truth means that it must be done according as God has specified in the Bible. Spirit is an attitude, mood, or disposition.
Worship should cause us to reflect on the majesty and graciousness of God and Christ, contrasted to our own unworthiness.
When we worship God, we tend to value what God values and gradually take on the characteristics and qualities of God, but never to His level.
When we worship God we develop such traits as forgiveness, tenderness, justice, righteousness, purity, kindness, self-control, and love.
Worshiping God “in spirit” means with reverence, attentiveness, and having the right purpose of honoring God, while understanding what we are doing.
In order to worship God in the right spirit, we must take time before worship to make ready our hearts and emotions so we will be in the proper frame of mind.
He is our creator and He holds our eternal destiny in His hands. We must strive to please Him.
We should not have to rush or hurry to worship, arriving late but should always plan to be there early enough so we can be in a worshipful attitude and spirit.
We must control our thoughts during periods of worship and not let them wander to other things.
In fact, we should be of the frame of mind that we are disappointed to see the worship service end.
In showing reverence and respect to God, we will not be indifferent, inattentive, and taking lightly that which should be considered serious.
Slouching over, sleeping, playing with babies, squirming, unnecessary talking, and passing notes all show disrespect in worshipping God.
Worship which is insincere, that is not from the heart, is vain, useless, and unacceptable to God.
Active participation will tend to get rid of our lack of interest and inattentiveness.
Reverence is not having a long face, folded hands, or a put on look of piety.
